  • TALON SUL
Kite Summary
Buy  £225

Originally tested in March 2008 and eventually dropped due to lack of abilities,
the SUL nearly 'never was'. The project was rebooted in 2011 with some fresh ideas
which lead to the kite becoming far more capable and interesting to fly.

Substantially lighter than the UL version, the SUL is a careful trade-off between
lightness and trick ability, with a distinct personality of its own.

The SUL is built to the same size and construction specs as the other kites in this range, but key areas have either been lightened or left heavy
depending upon their impact on balance and overall weight.

Leading edge material is light Icarex sail fabric, but is spliced onto the tough/heavy tip-end construction of the UL, creating a form of tip weight
that increases momentum in spin tricks like Backspins, 540's, Slot / Taz Machines, Lazy Susans, Cyniques, and Yoyos. The removable tail weight
can add additional stablisation during continuous tricks like Backspins, but is not a requirement.

For additional weight loss, the trailing edge fabric and spine Mylar are also made from Icarex. In addition, lighter leech line, TE reinforcing, bridle,
and framing components add up to savings in overall weight.

The SUL is capable of either 2-pop or single-pop yoyos, catching on simple light weight Zip-Tie yoyo stoppers.

Centre-T position has been raised to improve depth in Turtle-based moves.

Recommended lines for the SUL : Weight = 55lb (25kg) / Length = less than 50ft (15m).

The SUL Talon should be your fourth choice.
It is delicate and requires experience in order to get the most out of it.
Most tricks require very light flier inputs, and some will only work with light inputs!
Kite Specifications

The Talon SUL is built from some of the finest materials available to kite production today.
Specifically Icarex PC-31 sail fabric and Skyshark carbon spars.

Icarex is a tough, light-weight ripstop sail fabric available in many colours.
